We invoke the spirit of Jesus, Lord Ganesha, Mohamad, Buddha, The Great Spirit, Haile Selassie I, and all greater and lesser known dieties and spiritual masters to aid us in our stuggle for Truth, Justice and Freedom and in this time of darkness.
The forces we face are formitable indeed, but they are no match for the power of truth and non-violent action. If we adhere to these principles, ultimately we can not fail.

After many years of farming in a free and unfettered way, suddenly it seems all that has changed. I have a tremendous amount of pressure of late from agribusiness and governmental organizations. I would like to document here what we as small sustainable farmers are going through to try to stay in business in these times. The food safety enhancement act, if passed into law will change everything. Linn Cohen-Cole is probably the most outspoken and politically correct voice on this issue. She calls it the literal enslavement of the American farmer. http://foodfreedom.wordpress.com/2009/06/23/the-literal-enslavement-of-the-american-farmer/

After heavey rains last week the road to our farm was impassible. I put the dates we were shipping on the tractor and headed out to the road to meet the UPS truck. As I sat waiting at a pull off, well off the road , a sheriff went by, then did a U-turn and came back to begin asking me questions.

I want to make it clear we are not the aggressors in this battle. We are simply defending our right to opperate a small farm in a natural way as our forefathers have done for thousands of years.
Our computer has been hacked into and the agrarianfreedom web site was attacked in an attempt to crash our sever. I had hoped to have an open forum and a place to comment about agrarian issues, but have had to turn this feature off to protect against further attacks.

Somewhere around 2002, I had a very unsettling experience. I began getting anonymous phone calls late on Sunday night. Words were ever spoken, but sometimes there was laughter or other sounds.

1) It implies not wishing ill.
2) It includes total refusal to cooperate with or participate in activities of the unjust group, even to eating food that comes from them.
3) It is of no avail without a living faith in the God of love and a love of all man kind.
4) It must prevade everything and not be applied merely to isolated acts.

After harvesting dates all day we decided to go to the health food store to do some shopping before heading home. When we came out of the store with our groceries there was a man standing next to our flat bed truck.

A couple years ago we had to send in the agricultural census report which was quite lengthly and detailed.
Now the USDA has sent us a form requesting more information about our farming operation. So far they have contacted us three times by mail and once by phone regarding this survey.

One of India's main tools in their non-violent struggle for independence was the spinning wheel. By making their own home-spun cloth, the people of India successfully boycotted their British rulers. Textile mills in Great Britan were forced to to shut down or lay off workers. It soon became obvious it was England who was dependent on India not the other way around. Through this and other forms of non-cooperation they liberated their county from forien rule without a shot being fired
In this same way, gardens are a tool we can use today in our fight for independence from corporate rule. By growing our own food we are in effect boycotting those who would gain control of us by controlling our food system.
Whether it be in a window box, a garden, or a farm which feeds others, it is each persons sacred duty to get their hands in the earth and grow food. This is the most revolutionary thing you can do in these times, and you don't even have to break the law. As far as I know, this is still legal in most places.
If we could, in great enough numbers, become self-sufficient in our food supply, we could break the chains of corporate domination.
We can futher boycot Monsato and others like them by buying those foods which we can do not grow our selfs from local, sustainable, and organic small farms.
